This release reflects changes since the Forcepoint One Endpoint v19.10 release on November 6, 2019.

This release provides the following updates:

Forcepoint Web Security Endpoint

  • Support for the new Chromium-based Microsoft Edge on Windows
Forcepoint Web Security Endpoint agents (Proxy Connect Endpoint and Direct Connect Endpoint) support the new Microsoft Edge v79 on Windows endpoint machines. This version of Edge is based on Chromium, the open source web browser project. If either Proxy Connect Endpoint or Direct Connect Endpoint and Microsoft Edge v79 are installed on a Windows endpoint machine, Proxy Connect Endpoint/Direct Connect Endpoint installs an extension in Edge to provide web browsing protection.

  • Windows anti-tampering password update
The Windows anti-tampering password can now include the same special characters currently available for Mac anti-tampering passwords: > < * ? ! [ ] ~  `  '   "  ; ( ) & # \ $

For more information about the requirements for creating an anti-tampering password, see the “Guidelines for creating an anti-tampering password” in the Installation Guide or Upgrade Guide.

Forcepoint DLP Endpoint

  • Updated classifier files for Forcepoint DLP
The ForcepointOneEndpointPackage.zip file contains new Windows and Mac classifier files.
  • The updated Mac classifier file is fully notarized. This notarization is required for all Mac software installed on macOS 10.14 and higher.
  • The updated 32-bit and 64-bit Windows classifier files contain improvements based on resolved issues.
These classifier files are compatible with all supported Forcepoint DLP versions (v8.5.x–v8.7.x) and can be used with older Forcepoint DLP Endpoint agents. Forcepoint recommends that customers install the new classifier files when they install or upgrade to Forcepoint DLP Endpoint v20.02. For more information about installing the new classifier files during a new installation or replacing the old classifier files during an upgrade, see the Installation Guide or Upgrade Guide.

  • Support for the new Chromium-based Microsoft Edge on Windows
Forcepoint DLP Endpoint supports the new Microsoft Edge v79 on Windows endpoint machines. This version of Edge is based on Chromium, the open source web browser project. If a customer installs Forcepoint DLP Endpoint and Microsoft Edge v79 on a Windows endpoint machine, Forcepoint DLP Endpoint installs an extension in Edge to provide DLP protection.
NOTES:
  • If a customer installs or upgrades to Forcepoint DLP Endpoint v20.02 and installs Chromium-based Edge, they must restart the endpoint machine after they install or upgrade Forcepoint DLP Endpoint.
  • Forcepoint DLP Endpoint does not support the “Improved Detection for Web File Uploads” feature on Chromium-based Edge in this release as it requires changes to the Forcepoint Security Manager (FSM). Support will be added in a future Forcepoint DLP release and noted in the release notes. For more information about configuring this feature, see the Endpoint settings page in the Forcepoint DLP Administrator Help.
  • Support for VMware Horizon 7.9
This release supports Forcepoint DLP Endpoint installation in a VMware Horizon 7.9 virtual desktop environment. Forcepoint DLP Endpoint can be installed on two types of VMware Horizon desktops:
  • Persistent desktops: Personal desktop where data is retained after the user logs off or reboots.
  • Non-persistent desktops: Shared desktop where data is not retained after the user logs off or reboots).
NOTES:
  • Forcepoint DLP Endpoint cannot detect screen captures on the Horizon Client when the end user presses the Print Screen key. Screen captures through the Horizon agent are detected.
  • Forcepoint Dynamic Data Protection (DDP) is not supported in a virtual desktop environment.
